Will taking biotin stop hair loss in women?

Please tell me if there is any solution for women with hair loss. I have been taking hair supplements, extra proteins, vitamins and minerals etc. I have also been using all sorts of oils, massaging scalp regurarly etc. I think I have tried all possible solutions for hair loss but somehow none of them seem to help me with hair loss. I’ve also seen my GP and he just said that I shouldn’t worry about it as my blood test doesn’t show anything wrong. Is there anyway I can stop my hair loss. I don’t want to use Minoxidil. I was thinking if taking Biotin tablets can stop or reduce hair loss. Please help!!!!!

yes,but it causes birth defects. there are products at the salon supply stores. at the health food store, there are pills that increase your hormone and thyroid function,those are the most common causes of hair loss,in my case it’s thyroid. minoxidil is not bad if you are not pregnant,or going to get pregnant.

Hair thinning!! 29 F Going to be bald in no time! HELP ME!!!?

Ok i’m new to this but i can’t find answers anywhere…
I have recently found out I have PCOS, I am on antidepressants and diaformin for the insulin resistance. I have been put on Yasmin to change the hormone levels.
Prior to all this i had the classic symptoms, moody, crampy, exessive hair in places that shouldn’t have hair on a woman as well as the thinning hair.
Originally i thought the hair thing was due to using my straightener and not using treatments for my hair. So I bought the expensive hair dresser treatments and shampoos and it didn’t work.
I have taken silica to help strenthen my hair and still my hair falls out. i have read online that PCOS contributes to the hair loss. I have gone off Yasmin since Feb as my husband and I are trying to conceive. I understand its hormonal. I know its part of PCOS but what i dont know is ‘Will it grow back?’ and ‘Is there someone who can help me get on track to stop if from falling out?!’ What is out there for me to try?!!

I would see an MD regarding your hair loss. anti-depressants can cause hair loss,but a combination of the other drugs and stress can cause more.. Sure, your hair will grow back.. If you were a guy.. I’d say No.. probably premature baldness.. Regardless.. Male or Female.. Hair loss sucks.. Eventually guys grow into their hair loss as they age.. Women never. Being a bald guy now.. I have no problem with it..but in my 30′s.. Yeah, I hated it.. Dig it now.

rogaine and hair loss?

I *think* my hair is thinning. (its difficult to tell because I have thick, coarse hair. but it seems thinner at the roots to me.) I’m rather paranoid about this since my father is quite bald and my friends are already starting to lose their hair — but I’m a young man in his twenties!

In my desperation I’ve begun to toy with the idea of using rogaine. I was wondering if anyone could help with the following questions:

Is it true that if I use it and then stop, that the rest of my hair will fall out? (not just the “new” hair.)
how does the foam differ from the regular formula?
is this stuff like goop in your hair all day?
is there anything else I should know?

can anyone recommend any other tricks or treatments to help.

Does anyone have information about the hair loss treatment drug called Provillus?

A little about my family hair loss history. My grandfather is bald. But my fathers side of the family have some or little hair loss. I’m starting to bald, but by the looks of it, it looks like i’m inheriting my fathers side of the family hair loss. I’m wondering if this is the right drug for me.
